In one view, the sitter is at peace and tranquil in her surroundings, on the other hand, she is is subjugated to the male gaze. The female form once risque and taboo in a sitting like this is now de riguer in human communication and dating rituals of the 21st century. Sending a ‘nude’ is part and parcel of today’s romantic currency.
